About the Mining Engineer Role

As a Mining Engineer, you will play a critical role in planning, designing, and supervising limestone mining operations to ensure safe, sustainable, and cost-effective extraction processes. This position requires a professional who can develop both short-term and long-term mine plans aligned with production goals, while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities for Mining Engineer Jobs in Lusaka

• Plan, design, and oversee limestone mining operations to guarantee safety and efficiency.
• Develop mine plans that meet production targets, balancing short-term and long-term objectives.
• Monitor mining activities to optimize productivity, equipment use, and operational costs.
• Ensure full compliance with mining regulations, environmental policies, and company safety standards.
• Conduct geological and mining assessments to support reserve management and mine development.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Registration with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) and the Engineering Registration Board (ERB).
• At least 3 years of proven experience in limestone mining operations.
• Strong expertise in open-pit mining methods, mine planning, and quarry management.
• Comprehensive knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental management systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
