Key Requirements for Accountant Jobs in Lusaka

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or a related field
• Progress towards professional qualifications such as Inter CA, CMA, or ACCA is advantageous
• Minimum of 4 to 5 years’ experience in corporate accounting
• Mandatory strong working knowledge of SAP, specifically FI/CO and MM modules
• Proven analytical and communication skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Good understanding of accounting standards including IFRS and basic Ind AS

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, goods receipts, and invoices to validate transactions
• Post verified financial entries in SAP, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and expense accounts
• Prepare and reconcile bank statements, including management of foreign exchange variances
• Monitor receivables, collections, and perform customer account reconciliations
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition related to agribusiness outputs
• Process credit notes and resolve any discrepancies in transactions
• Collaborate with plant teams for documentation, inventory management, and reporting accuracy
• Classify expenditures correctly between CAPEX and OPEX
• Manage fixed assets, including depreciation, capitalization, and disposals
• Track costs and inventory associated with biological assets and plantations
• Reconcile inter-company transactions and oversee fund flows
• Execute monthly and quarterly financial closures up to Trial Balance
• Ensure accurate accounting for accruals, provisions, and prepayments
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and support statutory audits

• Strong expertise in SAP FI and MM workflows
• Advanced Excel reporting capabilities, including Pivot Tables and Lookups
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies
• Capability to coordinate effectively across multiple locations
• Ability to meet strict financial reporting deadlines
