Available Positions for NGO WASH Jobs in Lusaka
Project Manager – Lusaka
Role Overview: Lead project planning, reporting, and implementation to ensure compliance with established systems and achieve project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project planning and progress reporting.
- Supervise WASH project team staff and monitor performance.
- Oversee implementation of project activities and manage work contracts.
- Coordinate partnership engagements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences (Public Health, Development Studies, Sociology preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in programme/project planning, monitoring, and evaluation with an international NGO.
- Proven project management experience in WASH projects.
Project Engineer – Lusaka
Role Overview: Lead technical preparation of tender documents, operation and maintenance planning, and supervise construction works.
Key Duties:
- Advise on tendering requirements for hardware works.
- Develop operation and maintenance (O&M) plans and training modules.
- Train Village Management Committees, Care Takers, and Pump Menders.
- Supervise project construction and advise on technology standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Water Engineering or Civil Engineering.
- 4-5 years’ experience in water and civil engineering, preferably with international NGOs.
- Proven experience in WASH-related water engineering projects.
MEAL Officer – Lusaka
Role Overview: Support development and implementation of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems to ensure data-driven project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead documentation of feature stories, case studies, and Stories of Change.
- Coordinate data collection, analysis, and use.
- Build team capacity in monitoring and evaluation methodologies and tools.
- Support project assessments, surveys, and research activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Demography, Social Sciences, M&E, Agriculture, Economics, or related field.
- 3-5 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation with an international NGO.
- Experience with data analysis software such as SPSS.
- Demonstrated expertise in quantitative and qualitative research for WASH projects.
Project Coordinator – Chikankata District
Role Overview: Ensure project compliance with systems and procedures, oversee performance, and coordinate community health worker activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project planning, reporting, and performance oversight.
- Train and coordinate Community Health Workers and facilitate counseling sessions for adolescents and youth.
- Document stories of change and manage project budgets and data.
- Identify and facilitate training for key stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Public Health with youth reproductive health and M&E experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project planning, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation with an international NGO.
- Valid motorbike license and riding experience required.
- Proven coordination experience in WASH projects.
Hygiene Promotion Specialist – Lusaka
Role Overview: Lead hygiene behavior change interventions in communities and institutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop hygiene promotion and sanitation marketing strategies.
- Identify and implement hygiene promotion interventions in communities, schools, and health facilities.
- Train hygiene promoters, community champions, WASH clubs, and MHM committees.
- Coordinate school WASH mapping and monitor adoption of positive hygiene behaviors.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health with participatory health and hygiene education experience.
- 3-5 years’ experience in hygiene promotion and behavior change with an international NGO.
- Familiarity with synergies among Ministries of Health, Education, and Local Government.
Advocacy & Capacity Strengthening Specialist – Lusaka
Role Overview: Lead partnership development, advocacy engagements, and institutional capacity building at district and sub-district levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strengthen systems with local partners, focusing on district-level engagement.
- Lead partnerships with local authorities and utilities.
- Drive advocacy in collaboration with CSOs and NGOs.
- Support development of integrated management systems and district plans.
- Lead capacity building and governance structure formation and training.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences such as Social Work, Sociology, or Development Studies.
- 3-5 years’ experience in advocacy, capacity building, and partnership development with international NGOs.
- Proven knowledge of local governance structures and WASH advocacy.
Community Facilitator Interns (2 Positions) – Siavonga & Kafue
Role Overview: Support coordination and monitoring of project activities within assigned regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor project activities and facilitate community meetings.
- Assist head office staff with organizing meetings and field visits.
- Support supervision of contractors and document project progress.
- Schedule appointments with district and sub-district partners and prepare reports.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Social Work, Development Studies, or related fields.
- Experience in community development and engagement.
