As a School Principal, you will play a pivotal role in managing the school’s academic and administrative functions. You will lead a diverse team of educators and staff, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous professional development. Your leadership will directly impact student achievement and holistic development through innovative academic and extracurricular programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive leadership and management of academic and administrative operations.
- Motivate and mentor teaching and non-teaching staff to promote professional growth and high performance.
- Develop and implement academic and extracurricular programs that enhance student success.
- Ensure full compliance with Ministry of Education regulations, school policies, and quality assurance standards.
- Promote excellence in teaching, learning, discipline, and student welfare.
- Manage budgeting, resource allocation, and overall school operations responsibly.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with parents, the community, and education stakeholders.
- Oversee curriculum planning, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Handle disciplinary and conflict-resolution matters with professionalism and fairness.
- Stay current with educational trends, innovations, and best practices to enhance school performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field; a Master’s Degree is an advantage.
- Minimum of five years teaching experience, with at least five years as a school principal preferred.
- Valid teaching qualification or license recognized by the Ministry of Education, Zambia.
- Proven leadership and team management skills in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development and implementation for primary and/or secondary education.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
- Effective decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict management skills.
- High professionalism, integrity, and emotional intelligence.
- Experience with school administration systems and educational technology is beneficial.
- Ability to cultivate an inclusive, collaborative, and student-centered school culture.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
