Finance Manager Jobs in Lusaka – Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial & Operations Officer, the Finance Manager will oversee the day-to-day finance function, lead the month-end close process, and ensure full compliance with statutory and listing requirements. This role serves as the second in command within the finance team and acts as a trusted business partner to product, technology, and commercial leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a timely and accurate month-end close, delivering IFRS-compliant management accounts within established deadlines.
• Prepare comprehensive financial statements and supporting disclosures for Board meetings, Lusaka Securities Exchange (LuSE), and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting.
• Lead the annual external audit process and serve as the primary liaison with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
• Oversee cash management, treasury functions, foreign exchange exposure, and banking relationships, including maintaining a rolling thirteen-week cash forecast.
• Direct the budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing variance analysis accompanied by commercial insights.
• Enhance internal controls, segregation of duties, and the overall financial control environment across all revenue streams.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations covering VAT, PAYE, WHT, and corporate tax, managing all Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) correspondence and audits.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounts team to elevate technical proficiency and performance.
• Collaborate with operational teams on revenue assurance, unit economics, and contract profitability analyses.
• Drive automation initiatives to streamline finance workflows and improve data integrity from operational systems to the General Ledger.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• ACCA or CIMA qualification is required.
• Membership in good standing with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
• At least five years of post-qualification experience in finance roles.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Zambian tax legislation, and the Companies Act.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and practical experience with modern ERP or accounting systems.
• Experience within a listed company, audit firm (Big 4 or mid-tier), or technology sector is highly advantageous.
