Key Responsibilities for Store Manager Jobs in Lusaka

  • Store Operations: Ensure the showroom opens on time, is well-prepared, and professionally presented every day. Manage staff deployment and floor activities, handle escalated customer complaints with professionalism, and maintain accurate product displays and pricing.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise retail sales representatives daily, conduct briefings on sales targets and promotions, monitor individual performance, provide coaching, and report any ongoing performance or conduct issues to HR.
  • Sales Performance: Drive achievement of daily and monthly sales targets, monitor conversion rates, assist with complex customer inquiries, and coordinate quotation follow-ups with the Admin Officer.
  • Site Visits & Client Measurements: Conduct client site visits to take precise window and curtain measurements, verify sales representatives’ measurements before production, and coach the team on proper measurement techniques and client interaction while representing the company professionally.
  • Administration: Submit daily sales reports, manage staff schedules and attendance, and escalate stock or operational needs to the Operations Manager.

Role Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: Zambia School Certificate (Grade 12) is required.
  • Experience: At least two years in retail sales, including a minimum of one year in a supervisory role. Experience in home décor, textiles, or interior retail is advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong sales and customer service abilities, team supervision, performance management, clear verbal and written communication, and basic store administration and reporting skills.
  • Personal Attributes: A natural leader who commands respect through competence and consistency, customer-focused, energetic, motivating, reliable, and consistently professional.
