About the Human Resource Officer Role

As a Human Resource Officer at CCECC under the TAZARA project, you will play a pivotal role in managing comprehensive HR functions across project sites. Your efforts will ensure compliance with Zambian labor laws and company policies while promoting a productive and safe workplace culture. This full-time position demands a proactive approach to human capital management and employee relations.

Key Responsibilities of the Human Resource Officer

  • Lead recruitment and selection activities including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR databases
  • Administer payroll inputs, employee benefits, and leave management effectively
  • Ensure strict adherence to Zambian labor laws and internal HR policies
  • Support performance management processes such as appraisals and development plans
  • Manage employee relations, addressing grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
  • Coordinate and facilitate staff training and development programs
  • Prepare detailed HR reports and provide actionable insights to management
  • Promote workplace health, safety, and employee well-being initiatives

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related discipline
  • At least three years of experience in a human resource role, preferably within construction, engineering, or large infrastructure projects
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Zambian labor laws and HR best practices
  • Membership in the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) is advantageous
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and handle sensitive information discreetly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • High integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Capacity to multitask and perform under pressure
