About the Crane Operator Role
As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mobile cranes in line with company standards and statutory safety requirements. Your expertise will support the smooth handling of materials, equipment, and machinery critical to our industrial operations.
Key Responsibilities for Crane Operator Jobs in Lusaka West
- Operate mobile cranes safely and efficiently, adhering strictly to company procedures and legal regulations.
- Perform pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance checks on cranes and related lifting equipment.
- Lift, move, position, and place materials, equipment, and machinery as directed by supervisors.
- Ensure all lifting tasks comply with approved lifting plans and safety standards.
- Maintain clear communication with riggers, supervisors, and other team members during lifting operations.
- Promptly report any equipment defects, incidents, or unsafe conditions to management.
- Keep accurate records of crane inspections, operational activities, and maintenance work.
- Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies at all times.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent.
- Valid Crane Operator Certificate or License issued by a recognized institution.
- At least one year of proven experience operating mobile cranes in mining, construction, or industrial settings.
- Strong understanding of lifting procedures, load charts, and crane safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and perform effectively in challenging environments.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A valid driver’s license is considered an advantage.
