Key Responsibilities for Maintenance Supervisor Jobs in Kitwe

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance team and ensuring the upkeep of college facilities to the highest standards. Core duties include:

• Leading, training, and motivating maintenance personnel while assigning tasks and monitoring their performance according to college policies.
• Scheduling and executing routine inspections, repairs, and emergency maintenance for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural systems.
• Maintaining academic buildings and outdoor areas to ensure they remain safe, functional, and visually appealing.
• Supervising external contractors, inspecting their work, and enforcing compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Conducting risk assessments and enforcing safety protocols, including regular checks of fire extinguishers and emergency lighting.
• Monitoring electricity and water consumption, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
• Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, preparing reports, and updating ticketing systems for transparency and accountability.
• Overseeing janitorial and gardening staff to maintain cleanliness and beautification of the college grounds.
• Performing additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Full Grade 12 Certificate.
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience.
• Registration with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) is mandatory.
