About the Pharmacy Cashier Role

As a Pharmacy Cashier at Mair Pharmacy Ltd, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, ensuring smooth and efficient transactions while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and a passion for customer service within a fast-paced pharmacy environment.

Key Responsibilities in Pharmacy Cashier Jobs in Lusaka

• Greet and assist customers courteously and professionally
• Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems, including cash, credit, and insurance payments
• Open and close the pharmacy promptly according to schedule
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy floor and shelves
• Restock, price merchandise, and build attractive product displays
• Participate in monthly inventory stock takes and weekly banking of sales
• Manage petty cash and reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts
• Answer customer inquiries or refer them to the pharmacist as needed
• Report operational issues and collaborate with the team to meet sales targets
• Assist pharmacists or pharmacy technologists with additional pharmacy-related tasks
• Submit weekly and monthly reports while maintaining confidentiality
• Adhere strictly to pharmacy policies and standard operating procedures

Candidate Requirements

• Full Grade 12 Certificate
• Diploma in a sales-related field is required
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a retail cashier or in a similar sales role; pharmacy cashier experience is advantageous
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems
• Strong mathematical skills and customer satisfaction orientation
• Excellent communication and time management abilities
• Ability to work long shifts in a 24-hour pharmacy setting with a flexible schedule
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and reliability
• Residence near Minestone and Off Shantumbu Rd, Chalala area is preferred
