About the Role: Finance and Support Services Director Jobs in Lusaka
The Finance and Support Services Director will provide values-based leadership to World Vision’s finance and support teams, ensuring the recruitment, development, and retention of competent and motivated staff. This role requires active participation in senior leadership forums and collaboration across multiple departments to strengthen financial stewardship, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
Key responsibilities include overseeing grants financial management, risk and compliance, financial planning and budgeting, fiscal accounting, audit coordination, and leadership of global technology, security, fleet management, administration, and supply chain functions. The role demands a strategic mindset to promote cost efficiency, resource optimization, and compliance with donor regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop finance and support services teams with a focus on professional growth and succession planning.
- Ensure effective cost-efficiency measures and promote benchmarking to improve resource utilization.
- Oversee grants portfolio management, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and timely reporting.
- Coordinate annual budgeting and financial planning aligned with global and regional requirements.
- Manage financial reporting systems, internal controls, and adherence to World Vision policies.
- Lead risk management initiatives, audit responses, and anti-corruption strategies.
- Provide leadership for technology services, IT security, and disaster preparedness.
- Ensure safety, security, and maintenance of facilities, fleet, and administrative services.
- Drive strategic procurement and supply chain management to support organizational needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or MSc preferred.
- Professional certifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CISA, or CA Zambia are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years supervisory experience in finance and accounting, including NGO sector experience managing multiple donor funds.
- Proven expertise in statutory, donor, and internal audit processes.
- Strong proficiency in computerized accounting systems, preferably SAP; experience with SunSystems is an advantage.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ethics, compliance, internal controls, and donor regulations.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to build effective partnerships.
- Committed Christian with the ability to work respectfully across denominational diversity.
