Our client, a well-established road construction company, is recruiting a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Kasempa District, Northwestern Province, Zambia.

Position Overview

The Quantity Surveyor will play a pivotal role in managing measurement, cost control, and reporting activities for civil and road construction projects. This position demands technical expertise in earthworks quantity management, cost verification, and strict adherence to project standards to ensure accurate and timely delivery of project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct lot-level measurement and verification against survey records
• Manage subcontractor measurement and certification processes
• Capture and monitor daily costs related to construction activities
• Prepare comprehensive monthly cost reports for the Senior Quantity Surveyor
• Oversee earthworks quantity management, including cut/fill, borrow, and haul operations
• Control measurement and cost for civil works

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor of Science or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• At least three years of relevant experience in civil and road construction projects
• Proven expertise in earthworks quantity management (cut/fill, borrow, haul) is essential
• Registration with the Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors (ZIQS) or eligibility to register
• Proficiency in CCS Candy software and Microsoft Excel

Statutory and Compliance Requirements

• Mandatory registration with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) as per the Engineering Institution of Zambia Act for engineers, technologists, and technicians
• Pre-employment medical fitness certification for remote site work
• Valid manual driver’s license required due to supervisory and engineering responsibilities
• Submission of certified copies of qualifications and proof of professional registration
• Provision of at least two contactable work references
• Qualification verification will be conducted by the recruitment consultant prior to shortlisting

Work Location and Contract Details

This is a residential position based at a remote construction site in Kasempa District, Northwestern Province, Zambia. Accommodation will be provided in a site camp, with rotation and leave cycles to be agreed upon based on the employment grade.

The role is offered on a fixed-term contract aligned with the construction program, extending until December 2029. A probation period will apply in accordance with the Employment Code Act No. 3 of 2019.
