About the Technician Role

Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, programming, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a diverse range of electronic security systems. This role demands a commitment to high-quality customer service and technical support, ensuring client satisfaction and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities for Technician Jobs in Lusaka

• Install and configure IDS and Paradox alarm systems.
• Program, commission, and maintain CCTV systems (both Analog and IP), DVRs, NVRs, and remote viewing applications.
• Service and repair sliding and swing gate motors.
• Install, energize, test, and maintain electric fence systems.
• Program alarm panels, sensors, keypads, and remote controls.
• Conduct system testing, fault diagnosis, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Install and maintain biometric access control systems, including ZKTeco and Hikvision models.
• Support guard monitoring systems installation and maintenance.
• Set up network components such as routers, switches, cabling, and IP addressing.
• Respond promptly to service call-outs, alarm faults, and emergency breakdowns.
• Conduct site surveys and recommend appropriate security solutions.
• Provide user training on installed systems.
• Complete job cards, service reports, and maintain accurate installation and maintenance records.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and stock materials.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Build and maintain excellent customer relationships through professional service delivery.
• Perform additional duties as assigned within the role’s scope.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or related Engineering fields.
• Valid practicing licence is mandatory.
• Additional certifications in security systems installation are advantageous.
• Proven practical experience with IDS and Paradox alarm systems, including programming and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with CCTV systems (Analog and IP), gate motor installation, and electric fence maintenance.
• Competence in biometric access control systems and guard monitoring systems.
• Electrical installations and network configuration experience, including routers, switches, cabling, and IP addressing.
