About the Poultry Attendant Role

As a Poultry Attendant at Goldenlay Agri Limited, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of poultry farm activities. Your responsibilities will include overseeing feeding and watering routines, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in poultry houses, and supporting egg collection and handling processes. You will also be expected to monitor poultry health, maintain accurate mortality records, and ensure all equipment is functioning properly.

Key Responsibilities for Poultry Attendant Jobs in Baluba Luanshya

• Manage proper access, feeding, and watering of poultry to promote optimal health.
• Maintain high standards of bird welfare and hygiene within poultry houses.
• Assist with the safe collection and handling of eggs to preserve quality.
• Keep detailed records of poultry mortality and report any concerns promptly.
• Ensure machinery and equipment are well-maintained and report defects immediately.
• Strictly adhere to biosecurity protocols, including the use of approved personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain adequate feed stock levels to support uninterrupted farm operations.
• Support additional poultry house duties, such as catching birds for sale when necessary.

Candidate Requirements

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Certificate in General Agriculture or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in poultry farming.
• Registered member of the Agricultural Institute of Zambia (AIZ) with a valid practising licence.
• Mature and responsible individual, preferably aged between 25 and 35 years.
