The Grants & Partnerships Manager will play a crucial role in supporting fundraising efforts, managing existing grants, and cultivating new funding partnerships. Reporting to the Zambia Country Director and collaborating with the Head of Philanthropy and Institutional Partnerships in Brussels, the successful candidate will ideally be based in Zambia, Tanzania, or Malawi to maintain close connections with project teams and funders.

Key Responsibilities for Grants and Partnerships Manager Jobs in Lusaka

• Funding Scoping and Pipeline Development: Maintain an updated funding pipeline aligned with WeForest’s global priorities; identify and assess funding opportunities; build relationships with potential donors; and develop strategic partnerships and consortiums.
• Application Preparation and Submission: Lead the creation of high-quality funding proposals, coordinate inputs from project and finance teams, and manage submission processes ensuring compliance with due diligence and ethical fundraising standards.
• Grant Management and Donor Stewardship: Oversee contractual compliance, lead narrative and financial reporting, and nurture relationships with key funders to ensure ongoing support.
• Networking and Positioning: Represent WeForest at sector events, enhance organizational visibility, and contribute to thought leadership in forest restoration.
• Organizational Support: Build fundraising capacity within country teams and act as a communication bridge between global fundraising and local program teams.

Candidate Profile

• At least 5 years’ experience in fundraising focused on public donors, institutional funding (e.g., EU, member states), and philanthropic foundations; corporate fundraising experience is a plus.
• Background in environmental conservation and/or rural development, with knowledge of the Miombo biome strongly preferred.
• Proven skills in narrative and financial reporting, grant management, and working with international donors.
• Experience working in multicultural environments with international teams.
• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in International Development, Business Administration, Economics, Fundraising, Environmental Science, or related fields.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proactive work ethic, and ability to collaborate effectively.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, Canva or similar tools.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
