About the Male Cleaner & Operation Assistant Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all areas within the Shayna Deyne Group—including the Curtain Factory production floor, Deyne Interiors showroom, office spaces, and client-facing environments—are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. This role is essential to supporting the company’s professional image and the wellbeing of staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities for Male Cleaner Jobs in Ibex Hill Lusaka

• Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness of the production floor at the start and end of each working day
• Remove fabric offcuts, thread, and production waste from workstations and floors throughout the day
• Empty waste bins daily, ensuring proper segregation where applicable
• Clean and sanitise bathrooms and toilet facilities at least twice daily
• Wipe down machinery exteriors, workbenches, and surfaces using appropriate cleaning products
• Keep storage areas, passageways, and emergency exits free of clutter and obstructions
• Prepare and maintain the Deyne Interiors showroom before opening, including floors, glass surfaces, display areas, and reception
• Maintain spotless client-facing areas throughout business hours and promptly address any spillages or cleanliness issues
• Clean windows, glass doors, and display cabinets regularly
• Polish and dust furniture, shelving, and décor items in the showroom
• Clean office areas and common spaces daily without disturbing documents
• Sanitise kitchen and staff break areas, including surfaces, sinks, and appliances
• Replenish toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitiser, notifying administration when supplies run low
• Use cleaning products safely and correctly, adhering to label instructions and wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Report maintenance issues such as broken fixtures, leaks, or electrical faults promptly to the Admin Officer

Candidate Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum Zambia School Certificate (Grade 12)
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• At least one year of experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or facilities maintenance
• Experience in commercial or retail environments is an advantage
• Familiarity with commercial cleaning products and equipment
• Attention to detail and thoroughness in all cleaning tasks
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise multiple tasks
• Understanding of hygiene and sanitation standards
• Reliable, punctual, honest, and trustworthy with discretion in the workplace
• Physically fit to perform standing, bending, and light lifting throughout the day

Working Conditions and Additional Information

• Physical role requiring standing, walking, bending, and light lifting
• Early start necessary to complete showroom cleaning before business opening
• Use of PPE mandatory when handling cleaning chemicals
• May be required to cover additional areas during events or client visits on short notice
