Position Overview: Head SME Banking

Reporting directly to the Head of Retail, Digital & Business Banking, the Head SME Banking will spearhead the strategic direction and operational management of the SME Banking division. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated team, champion customer-centric financial solutions, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal risk management frameworks. This role is pivotal in strengthening Access Bank’s market position among small and medium enterprises while contributing to the bank’s overall profitability.

Key Responsibilities in Head SME Banking Jobs in Lusaka

• Develop and execute a comprehensive SME Banking strategy aligned with the bank’s business objectives.
• Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities and innovative products to attract and retain SME clients.
• Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to adapt strategies effectively.
• Drive portfolio growth by acquiring new SME clients and deepening relationships with existing customers.
• Oversee the design and delivery of SME products and services, including loans, trade finance, cash management, and advisory offerings.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.
• At least 10 years of banking experience with significant exposure to SME or business banking.
• Demonstrated success in leading and expanding an SME banking division or similar business unit.
• Proven leadership skills with a track record of managing teams and delivering results in competitive markets.
