Position Overview for Heavy Duty Mechanic Jobs in Mfez Lusaka

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic at Sunda International, you will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, performing repairs, and conducting routine maintenance on a variety of heavy vehicles and machinery. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and supporting our operational goals. Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using specialized diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, braking, steering, suspension, and other vehicle systems.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance, including oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotations.
• Replace defective parts and components in line with manufacturer specifications.
• Test drive vehicles post-repair to verify performance and quality standards.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and labor hours.
• Adhere strictly to workplace health and safety guidelines.
• Keep the workshop clean, organized, and free of hazards.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Certificate in Mechanics or an equivalent qualification.
• Valid Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) Certificate.
• Completion of vocational or technical training in automotive repair is advantageous.
• Proven hands-on experience as a Mechanic or Heavy Duty Machine Technician.
• Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, and suspension.
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical faults.
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
