Key Responsibilities for Chief Financial Officer Jobs in Kitwe

  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organisational goals; advise CEO and Board on financial planning, investment, and risk management; lead financial forecasting and support mergers and fundraising initiatives.
  • Financial Management & Reporting: Oversee preparation and accuracy of financial statements and management reports; ensure compliance with IFRS and regulatory standards; monitor financial performance and recommend corrective measures.
  • Treasury & Capital Management: Manage liquidity, cash flow, capital allocation, and banking relationships; optimise capital structure and evaluate financing options.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Establish risk management frameworks; ensure adherence to laws and regulations; strengthen internal controls and governance systems.
  • Budgeting & Performance Management: Lead budgeting and forecasting; monitor departmental performance; implement financial metrics and drive cost optimisation.
  • Corporate Governance & Stakeholder Management: Liaise with auditors, regulators, investors, and banks; prepare Board reports; promote transparency and ethical financial management.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Mentor and develop the finance team; foster a culture of accountability and innovation; build succession plans to enhance organisational capability.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional qualification such as CA Zambia, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent, with current good standing at the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant financial management experience, including at least 5 years in senior leadership within financial services, microfinance, banking, fintech, or credit institutions.
  • Strong expertise in strategic financial planning, IFRS, taxation, financial regulations, and corporate governance.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems, financial reporting software, and Microsoft Excel.
  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification and experience engaging with regulators, investors, and Boards is preferred.
