Key Responsibilities for Senior Human Resource Officer Jobs in Zambia
- HR Budget and Workforce Planning: Collaborate with HR management and finance teams to support the annual HR budget process, develop workforce planning schedules, and monitor HR costs against budgets.
- Policy Development and Implementation: Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating HR policies to ensure compliance with labour legislation and organizational requirements. Facilitate communication and enforcement of policies throughout the company.
- Disciplinary and Employee Relations: Represent HR in disciplinary hearings, ensuring procedural fairness and compliance. Manage grievances, maintain accurate records, and coordinate Joint Committee meetings. Serve as the primary HR contact for union matters, including consultations and negotiations.
- Medical Aid and Employee Wellbeing: Administer medical aid schemes and employee healthcare benefits, monitor absenteeism trends, and support wellbeing initiatives as the first point of contact for employee welfare.
- HR Operations and Compliance: Maintain accurate employee records, support daily HR operations, and ensure adherence to labour laws and internal policies. Assist with audits and maintain proper HR documentation.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in HR, with strong expertise in employee relations, disciplinary processes, HR budgeting, workforce planning, and medical aid administration.
- Proven ability to develop and implement HR policies effectively.
