Position Overview

The HR Officer will report directly to the Line Manager and Senior Management, overseeing all HR operations to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and smooth workforce management. This full-time role involves managing recruitment, contract administration, policy formulation, performance management, payroll, attendance tracking, onboarding, and legal matters across the three key projects located at Lusaka Ibex Hill Oasis.

Key Responsibilities for HR Officer Jobs in Lusaka

  • Attendance and Leave Management: Monitor employee attendance, late arrivals, and absenteeism while maintaining accurate leave records.
  • Onboarding and Registrations: Facilitate employee onboarding and register staff with statutory bodies including NAPSA, NHIMA, and TPIN.
  • Payroll Administration: Prepare and process monthly payroll for all employees across the three projects, ensuring timely submission of statutory taxes and contributions, and distributing pay slips promptly.
  • Compliance and Statutory Obligations: Ensure strict adherence to Zambian labor laws and submit all necessary statutory returns related to taxes, social security, and health insurance.
  • Employee Relations and Legal Matters: Manage employee grievances and disciplinary cases, and represent the organization in labor disputes or court proceedings when required.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in HR operations, preferably within the construction or real estate sectors.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Zambian labor laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems and HR software applications.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost integrity.
  • Certificates in Occupational Health and Safety and First Aid administration are advantageous.
