About the Machinist Role – Precision and Skill in Machinist Jobs in Chingola

As a Machinist 4, you will be integral to our production team, operating manual machining equipment to deliver high-quality metal components that meet strict engineering specifications. Your expertise will ensure that all manufactured parts conform to company standards and client requirements.

Your daily responsibilities will include operating manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other workshop machinery. You will interpret engineering drawings and blueprints with accuracy, manufacture and assemble components with precision, and conduct rigorous quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Maintaining the machinery in optimal condition through routine servicing will also be a key part of your role.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, and related workshop equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation accurately.
• Manufacture, assemble, and finish metal components to exact tolerances.
• Perform quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
• Conduct routine machine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
• Work with materials including steel, aluminium, and brass.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Uphold strict standards of quality, safety, and continuous process improvement.

Candidate Requirements for Machinist Jobs in Chingola

• Certificate or Diploma in Machining, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 3 years of industrial machining experience, with a strong focus on manual machining processes.
• Valid membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) is required.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
