The Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) invites applications for the position of HR Specialist – Resourcing based in Lusaka, Zambia. As an HR specialist in resourcing, you will play a pivotal role in supporting hiring managers and aligning recruitment strategies with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities for HR Specialist Jobs in Lusaka

  • Implement and interpret HR policies and Zambian labour laws, providing expert guidance to project heads and managers on resourcing matters.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of CIDRZ’s objectives to effectively plan and shape recruitment requirements.
  • Act as the resourcing subject matter expert by anticipating and responding to CIDRZ’s staffing needs and staying informed on external labour market trends and best practices.
  • Support job analysis and job evaluation to ensure accurate job grading and maintain up-to-date job descriptions and competency profiles.
  • Lead and coordinate the full recruitment cycle, including interviews, selection, placement, and orientation to secure high-quality hires.
  • Negotiate salaries and ensure correct salary placement for new staff members.
  • Manage work permit applications for expatriate staff and liaise with immigration authorities as necessary.
  • Collaborate on annual manpower planning and maintain the organizational establishment spreadsheet to optimize staffing levels.
  • Prepare regular reports on staffing trends, turnover, and project-specific human resource data.
  • Maintain confidential employee records for management and reporting purposes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management.
  • Minimum of five years’ relevant experience in HR resourcing or recruitment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Zambian labour laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with keen attention to detail.
  • Training in job analysis and evaluation is advantageous.
  • Valid practicing license from the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) is mandatory.
