Key Responsibilities of the Quality Controller

• Monitor critical control points (CCPs) to ensure product safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
• Inspect equipment, machinery, products, ingredients, and raw materials upon receipt, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping.
• Conduct spot checks on packaged products to verify correct labelling, including product names, production dates, and batch numbers.
• Ensure adherence to recipe guidelines during processing.
• Enforce compliance with food safety and worker safety protocols, issuing disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Report non-conformance or non-compliance issues to the Food Safety Manager and recommend corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, health, and quality procedures and make recommendations accordingly.
• Collect product and laboratory samples for analysis.
• Promote and facilitate “clean as you go” practices during production.
• Perform sanitation verification on equipment and designated areas.
• Ensure all employees comply with the Food Safety Policy and Hygiene Code of Conduct.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Grade 12 certificate.
• Training in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and ISO 22000 standards.
• At least one year of experience working in a food plant environment.
• Applicants must provide certificates verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
