Role Overview: Supply Chain and Logistics Officer

As the Supply Chain and Logistics Officer, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the company’s supply chain and logistics functions. Your responsibilities will include coordinating the transportation of heavy machinery, spare parts, and consumables to various mining sites, managing inventory levels, and optimizing transportation routes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and monitor transportation of raiseboring equipment, spare parts, and materials to and from mining sites.
• Manage the end-to-end supply chain process ensuring timely delivery without disrupting mining operations.
• Oversee inventory management to maintain accurate stock levels and minimize shortages or excess stock.
• Negotiate and liaise with freight forwarders, transporters, and suppliers to secure cost-effective shipping rates.
• Ensure compliance with Zambian transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Maintain detailed logs and documentation of fleet movements, shipments, and inventory cycles.
• Resolve logistical challenges and supply chain bottlenecks promptly to maintain operational flow.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transport Management, or related field.
• Valid Zambian Driver’s License is mandatory.
• At least 3 years of proven experience in logistics and supply chain management, preferably in mining, heavy machinery, or construction sectors.
• Membership in Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) or Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management, fleet scheduling, and route planning.
• Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with logistics and inventory software as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
