Key Responsibilities for Condition Monitoring Technician Jobs in Solwezi
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Adhere strictly to all safety, health, and environmental policies. Conduct pre-task risk assessments, report hazards, and participate in safety inspections and initiatives.
- Condition Monitoring Execution: Carry out scheduled condition monitoring preventive maintenance tasks including vibration data collection using approved instruments such as ADASH. Perform laser shaft alignment, balancing, non-destructive testing (MPI, DPI, UT thickness), thermographic inspections, and shutdown supplementary inspections as required.
- Data Management and Reporting: Upload and validate condition monitoring data in approved systems, prepare condition reports highlighting defects, and escalate critical issues promptly to technical specialists or reliability teams.
- Maintenance Coordination Support: Follow up on recommendations, confirm work order creation, provide feedback to planners and supervisors, and assist in verifying corrective actions during post-maintenance inspections.
- Continuous Improvement and Development: Engage in technical training to enhance condition monitoring skills, maintain vibration analysis competency (minimum Level I), and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
- Proficiency in data analysis using Microsoft software packages.
- Membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
- All academic qualifications must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
- Minimum of three years’ practical experience in maintenance and condition monitoring roles.
- Familiarity with Maintenance Management Systems such as PRONTO, SAP, or Maximo MI7.
- Understanding of various condition monitoring technologies and maintenance processes.
Behavioural and Operational Attributes
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Team-oriented with agility to adapt to changing work demands.
- Technical proficiency in condition monitoring tools and techniques.
- Certification at Level I or higher in vibration analysis, alignment, thermography, NDT, or machinery lubrication is advantageous.
- Willingness to work extended hours including field assignments.
- Competence with maintenance management systems and industry best practices.
