Projects Plus Limited is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Water Engineer to join our site team for a major infrastructure project in Zambia. This contract position offers a unique chance to lead and supervise critical water supply, sanitation, and fire-fighting installations, ensuring compliance with national standards and project specifications.

Role Overview for Water Engineer Jobs in Zambia

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the execution, supervision, and quality control of all water-related works on site. This includes managing borehole drilling, elevated water storage systems, reticulation networks, and fire-fighting water systems. You will also lead a team of site foremen and plumbing personnel to deliver high-quality infrastructure within project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Borehole & Pumping: Supervise drilling, casing, and yield testing of a 70-meter deep borehole; oversee installation and commissioning of submersible pumps and starter panels.
• Elevated Storage: Manage fabrication and erection of a 15-meter high steel tank stand and installation of a 30 cubic meter sectional steel tank.
• Reticulation Networks: Oversee laying and testing of UPVC water supply pipelines, including fire lines, and sewer drainage systems.
• Fire Systems: Supervise installation and commissioning of fire hydrants, hose reels, and associated valve chambers.
• Quality Control: Ensure all works meet Zambian Water Standards (ZWS), project specifications, and approved drawings.
• Site Management: Provide leadership and mentorship to site foremen and plumbing crews; review shop drawings and approve materials.

Qualifications and Experience

• Registered member of the Engineers Institution of Zambia (EIZ) with a valid practicing license (mandatory).
• Degree or Diploma in Civil or Water Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years post-graduation experience in water supply and sanitation works, preferably on construction sites.
• Proven track record supervising borehole drilling and elevated tank stand construction.
• Strong knowledge of fire-fighting water reticulation systems.
• Experience working on remote sites within Zambia is highly advantageous.
