This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee operations across multiple branches, ensuring exceptional standards in sales, stock management, customer service, and overall store efficiency.

Key Responsibilities for Supermarket Supervisor Jobs in Kitwe

• Conduct thorough and regular inspections at all three supermarket branches to maintain operational standards.
• Supervise branch managers, cashiers, and general store staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Monitor sales performance on a daily and weekly basis, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
• Review and verify reports submitted by branch managers, preparing detailed weekly summaries for the General Manager.
• Manage stock levels to guarantee availability of fast-moving products and investigate any shortages, damaged or expired goods.
• Oversee regular stock counts and monitor cash reconciliation, addressing till shortages and irregular transactions promptly.
• Ensure staff attendance, punctuality, discipline, and productivity meet company expectations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization across all stores, verifying proper operation of alarms, refrigeration units, lighting, and other equipment.
• Monitor utility usage and operating expenses to support cost-effective store management.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate any suspected theft, fraud, or misconduct immediately.
• Follow up on unresolved operational issues until satisfactory resolution.
• Assist in staff training, conduct performance reviews, and support disciplinary procedures as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures across all branches.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Minimum Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• A diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Retail Management, Accounting, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is advantageous.
• At least two years of relevant experience in supermarket, retail, wholesale, or store operations.
• Proven supervisory experience as a store manager, branch manager, or team leader.
• Strong knowledge of stock control, cash reconciliation, and retail operational procedures.
• Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to produce clear and accurate documentation.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to independently supervise multiple branches effectively.
• High integrity, discipline, confidentiality, and accountability.
• Flexibility to work outside regular hours, including weekends and public holidays when necessary.
