About Mafisa Zambia and the Role
Established in 2018, Mafisa Zambia is a non-profit organisation focused on strengthening productive pastoralist livelihoods in Mwandi and surrounding districts. The Stores Officer will report to the Head of Water Resources & Construction, with dotted-line reporting to the Manager of Procurement, Administration, and Logistics. This is a full-time, short-term contract position based in Tahalima, Sesheke, with the possibility of renewal.
The Stores Officer will be responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, control, and issuance of materials, tools, equipment, and fuel. The warehouse primarily supports the Water Team engaged in drilling and construction projects and serves the Mwandi Field Team. Effective coordination and meticulous record-keeping are essential to ensure smooth operations and safeguard organisational assets.
Key Responsibilities for Stores Officer Jobs in Sesheke
- Receive, inspect, and accurately record all incoming materials, tools, equipment, and fuel
- Ensure safe storage and maintain well-organised stock levels
- Issue materials according to approved requests and monitor usage
- Maintain precise inventory records and prepare stock reports regularly
- Monitor and control stocks of tools, equipment, and fuel to prevent shortages or losses
- Maintain warehouse safety, cleanliness, and security standards
- Coordinate effectively with field teams, procurement staff, and Head Office
Candidate Requirements
- Diploma in Stores Management, Procurement, or a related discipline
- 2 to 3 years of experience in warehouse or stores management
- Experience handling construction materials and fuel is advantageous
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Excel and inventory systems
- Honest, reliable, and able to work independently
- Fluency in Lozi is a plus
- Willingness to work under field and camping conditions
