About the Stores Officer Internship Role

As a Stores Officer Intern, you will work closely with the Senior Procurement Officer in the Procurement and Stores department. Your role will focus on assisting with receiving, storing, issuing, and recording goods to ensure smooth inventory control at Mukuba Hotel. This position is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of hotel procurement systems and stock control procedures.

Key Responsibilities for Stores Officer Internship Jobs in Ndola

  • Inventory & Stock Management: Receive, inspect, and verify goods against delivery notes and purchase orders; support proper storage of food, beverages, and operational supplies; maintain accurate stock records and organize items for easy access.
  • Issuing & Distribution: Assist in issuing materials to departments based on approved requisitions; ensure all issued items are recorded and signed for; support timely supply to kitchen, housekeeping, and maintenance teams.
  • Stock Control & Audits: Participate in regular stock counts; report discrepancies between physical and recorded stock; help identify slow-moving or expired items.
  • Record Keeping & Documentation: Maintain documentation of stock movements; accurately file invoices, delivery notes, and requisition forms; assist in preparing inventory reports.

  • Health, Safety & Hygiene: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store; ensure proper handling of goods; adhere to hotel health and safety standards.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field, or currently pursuing such qualifications.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt within a hotel environment.
