The Site Planner will play a critical role in maintenance planning, resource coordination, and equipment performance management to support our client operations in Kitwe.
Key Responsibilities for Site Planner Jobs in Kitwe
- Maintenance Planning and Scheduling: Develop and manage weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance plans for all OEM equipment, coordinating preventive, predictive, and corrective activities. Align schedules with OEM guidelines and client contractual requirements, preparing daily work plans for technicians and supervisors.
- Work Order Management: Create, issue, and track work orders, ensuring accurate completion and closure in the maintenance system. Maintain detailed records of labor hours, parts usage, and equipment service history.
- Resource and Spare Parts Planning: Forecast manpower needs and coordinate availability of tools and consumables. Monitor spare parts consumption and stock levels, liaising with supply chain teams to avoid shortages and support procurement of long lead-time components.
- Equipment Performance Monitoring: Track machine availability, utilization, and downtime. Analyze maintenance trends to identify recurring failures and recommend improvements. Support root cause analysis initiatives to optimize equipment reliability.
- Client Coordination: Participate in regular planning meetings with clients to communicate maintenance schedules and downtime forecasts, ensuring alignment between OEM support and client production plans while maintaining professional relationships.
- Reporting: Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly reports covering key performance indicators such as Equipment Availability, MTBF, MTTR, Schedule Compliance, Work Order Backlog, and Spare Parts Availability. Present findings to OEM and client management.
- Health, Safety and Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with site safety regulations. Verify permits, risk assessments, and procedures are in place, promoting a zero-harm safety culture at all times.
