Role Overview: Senior Coordinator Mechanical

The Senior Coordinator Mechanical (Dewatering Coordinator) will oversee all mechanical aspects of dewatering operations at the Kansanshi mine site. This role is critical for ensuring efficient, reliable water management that supports continuous mining activities while maintaining strict safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities for Senior Coordinator Mechanical Jobs in Solwezi

• Plan, schedule, and execute maintenance for pumps, pipelines (HDPE & steel), and dewatering infrastructure to maximize operational uptime.
• Conduct troubleshooting and repairs to optimize mechanical systems supporting dewatering operations.
• Monitor equipment performance metrics and identify opportunities for mechanical improvements.
• Collaborate closely with Mine Operations to coordinate dewatering activities and ensure mechanical reliability during critical phases.
• Prepare detailed daily, weekly, and monthly reports on equipment status, maintenance activities, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and internal standards related to water management and dewatering.

Qualifications and Experience

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical pumping systems including installation, maintenance, and operation.
• Over 5 years’ experience operating and maintaining high TDH and volume diesel pumps.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of pumps, pipelines, and dewatering systems with proven problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in maintenance planning and scheduling, with good communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Experience with powerlines and trolley assist installation is desirable but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with maintenance software is an advantage.
• Commitment to safety, professionalism, and adaptability in multicultural environments.

Working Conditions and Additional Information

This full-time position is based on-site at the Kansanshi mine. The role demands operational accountability and ownership across various units, with work rosters and hours that may vary according to business needs.
