About the Role: Safety Officer Jobs in Kanchibiya

As a Safety Officer at Zampalm Limited, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a proactive health and safety culture across the workforce. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing comprehensive safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with statutory health and safety legislation.

• Lead the promotion and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments and identify hazards to prevent accidents.
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage occupational health and safety audits and inspections.
• Enhance employee safety awareness and behaviour standards.
• Advise line managers on health and safety obligations and responsibilities.
• Maintain accurate records and report occupational safety incidents to relevant authorities.
• Guide the use of safety tools and ensure proper signage, including first aid management.
• Coordinate Health and Safety Committee activities in compliance with the Health and Safety Act 36 of 2010 and the Factories Act 441.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Candidates interested in this role should meet the following criteria:

• Full Grade 12 GCE Level Certificate or GCSE.
• A Degree or Diploma in Health and Safety Management.
• Membership with the Zambia Occupational Health and Safety Association is mandatory.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in occupational health and safety within a manufacturing or processing industry.
• Experience in a plantation environment is an added advantage.
