Role Overview for Rockbreaker Operator Jobs in Chingola

As a Rockbreaker Operator, you will be responsible for using hydraulic hammer attachments mounted on excavators to reduce large, oversized rocks into smaller, manageable pieces. This essential task supports the demolition of hard rock structures in the open pit mining environment, ensuring smooth and continuous mining operations.

The role requires precision to break rocks and boulders to specific millimeter measurements, while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures. Effective communication and teamwork with supervisors and other site personnel are key components of daily activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the rockbreaker safely and efficiently in compliance with safety standards.
• Break rocks and boulders to precise millimeter specifications.
• Conduct routine equipment checks and perform maintenance tasks as outlined in the Operator’s Checklist.
• Collaborate closely with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure work environment.

Candidate Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 3 to 4 years’ experience operating hydraulic hammer attachments on excavators.
• Grade 12 certificate is mandatory.
• Valid Excavator Operator certification required.
• Possession of a valid Silicosis certificate.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
