AFLIFE HOLDINGS ZAMBIA LTD is seeking a dedicated Risk and Compliance Assistant to join its Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) department at the Lusaka Head Office. About the Risk and Compliance Assistant Role
The Risk and Compliance Assistant will play a critical role in supporting the GRC function by assisting in the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of risks affecting the business. This position ensures adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies while contributing to the preparation of comprehensive risk and compliance reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
Reporting to: Head Governance, Risk and Compliance
Key Responsibilities for Risk and Compliance Assistant Jobs in Lusaka
- Conduct periodic internal reviews to verify compliance with procedure manuals, internal policies, and process controls.
- Prepare review documentation including work papers, planning memoranda, and risk and control records.
- Perform process walkthroughs and document findings and observations accurately.
- Engage with management to discuss review findings and monitor the implementation of agreed corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance systems to ensure effectiveness and regulatory adherence.
- Identify, document, and report compliance breaches and regulatory issues promptly.
- Compile monthly regulatory compliance monitoring reports aligned with approved work plans and checklists.
- Assist in updating Compliance Risk Management Plans (CRMPs) and related documentation.
- Support the communication and rollout of risk and compliance initiatives across the Group.
- Maintain accurate and current risk and compliance records.
- Participate in governance, risk, compliance, and other business projects as assigned.
- Assist with project testing, reviews, and sign-off activities when required.
- Attend industry-specific training to stay updated on governance, risk management, and compliance developments.
- Handle confidential information with the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
Qualifications and Key Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- At least one (1) year of relevant experience in a similar risk and compliance role.
- Strong research, analytical, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Solid understanding of governance, risk management, compliance, and internal control principles.
- Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated professional scepticism, sound judgment, and high ethical standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail, reliability, and accountability.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Eagerness to learn and grow professionally within the risk and compliance field.
