About the Role – Purchasing Lead Jobs in Chingola

As the Purchasing Lead, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating procurement activities for both core and non-core items. Your role will ensure cost-effective, timely, and compliant delivery of goods and services, supporting the company’s strategic objectives. You will work onsite in Chingola, adhering to company policies and local regulations while fostering strong vendor relationships and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage procurement activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
• Source, evaluate, negotiate, and manage supplier performance while monitoring procurement KPIs.
• Ensure full compliance with procurement policies, internal controls, and legal requirements.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation and oversee vendor onboarding processes.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to provide expert guidance on purchasing, planning, and budgeting.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to the development of procurement strategies.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• CIPS Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply or equivalent qualification.
• Membership of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) is required.
• At least 8 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
• Proven expertise in supplier management, sourcing, and contract negotiation.
• Strong knowledge of procurement principles, purchasing processes, and inventory management.
• Understanding of procurement compliance, internal controls, and vendor onboarding.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
