As a Project Support Officer, you will provide vital administrative, logistical, and project coordination support to the UKHSA IHR Strengthening Programme team in Zambia. Your responsibilities will include managing complex schedules, supporting project delivery to agreed timelines, and ensuring effective communication with local, national, and international stakeholders. This role requires fluency in English, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive administrative and logistical support to the IHR Programme, including correspondence management and diary coordination.
- Organize logistics for incoming UKHSA teams, including accommodation, transport, and training venues.
- Monitor project progress, troubleshoot minor technical and operational issues, and escalate urgent matters appropriately.
- Prepare briefings, reports, and presentations by synthesizing information from multiple sources.
- Maintain effective communication with government ministries, partners, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation.
- Support planning and execution of meetings, high-level events, and conferences.
- Assist UKHSA technical teams with orientation and provide cultural insights relevant to Zambia.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- At least three years of experience in a similar administrative role within the public sector or bilateral/multilateral organisations.
- Strong knowledge of administrative procedures, project management, and information analysis.
- Proven ability to manage complex diaries and organize high-profile meetings and events.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade.
- Capability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and adapt to changing deadlines.
- Confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.

Desirable Skills and Experience
- Understanding of global health challenges, especially in low and middle-income countries.
- Experience organizing events, workshops, or conferences.
