As the Production & Site Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the entire production cycle, installations, inventory control, and the operational team. You will supervise the Production Supervisor, Installation Technicians, and all operational staff to guarantee that every order is completed on schedule, quality standards are met, and any operational challenges are resolved proactively before impacting clients or senior management.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Oversee daily production and installation activities, plan and schedule jobs efficiently, identify and resolve bottlenecks, maintain job tracking systems, and align production capacity with sales demand.
- Team Leadership: Manage the Production Supervisor and Installation Technicians, conduct regular performance reviews, address attendance or conduct issues promptly with escalation to HR when necessary, and support onboarding of new staff.
- Site Leadership & Installation Delivery: Lead installation teams on-site, ensure adherence to safety and quality standards, manage client interactions professionally, plan installations thoroughly, and conduct final quality checks to guarantee client satisfaction and zero damage to property.
- Inventory & Procurement: Maintain accurate stock levels of fabrics and materials, coordinate timely procurement with suppliers, and prevent inventory shortages that could disrupt production.
- Quality Assurance: Uphold the company’s quality standards through regular inspections, implement corrective measures when needed, and foster a culture of pride in workmanship.
- Reporting: Provide weekly operational updates to the CEO, monitor job completion and error rates, and promptly highlight any operational risks.
Candidate Requirements
| Qualifications | Minimum Zambia School Certificate (Grade 12). A diploma or certificate in Operations Management, Business Administration, or related fields is advantageous. |

| Experience | 3 to 5 years in operations or production management roles, including managing teams of five or more. Experience in manufacturing, retail, or trades environments is preferred, with familiarity in scheduling, inventory management, and workflow planning. |
| Skills & Competencies | Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, effective team leadership, basic computer literacy (email, spreadsheets, job management tools), and the ability to interpret production schedules and job specifications. |
| Personal Attributes | Decisive and accountable with a disciplined approach to maintaining standards, collaborative across departments, and able to make quick decisions under pressure. |
Working Conditions & Additional Information
- Work environment includes office, factory, and workshop settings.
- Occasional visits to installation sites are required.
- Availability for urgent operational matters outside standard hours may be necessary.
- A valid driver’s license is advantageous.
