About the Procurement Manager Role

As Procurement Manager, you will provide strategic leadership over procurement and stores functions, ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and ethical sourcing of goods and services essential to hotel operations. Your role will be critical in maximising value, enhancing guest satisfaction, safeguarding company assets, and ensuring full compliance with procurement policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities for Procurement Manager Jobs in Lusaka

  • Manage the entire procurement lifecycle, from requisitions through contract management.
  • Identify and evaluate reliable suppliers across multiple categories, maintaining strong relationships to secure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery.
  • Conduct market research, competitive bidding, and supplier evaluations to develop cost-effective procurement strategies.
  • Forecast procurement needs based on operational schedules to ensure uninterrupted supply chain flow and inventory availability.
  • Lead contract negotiations, ensuring terms comply with company policies and legal standards, and manage contract renewals and amendments.
  • Implement supplier performance metrics and conduct regular reviews and audits to uphold quality standards.
  • Ensure procurement activities adhere to ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Collaborate with finance to develop and monitor procurement budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Work closely with internal departments such as kitchen, restaurant, and bar to align procurement with operational needs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the resort and suppliers, facilitating clear communication and contract compliance.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement & Supply, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Valid membership and practising licence with the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ procurement experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement laws, tendering procedures, and supply chain principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is an added advantage.
