About the Merchandiser Role

As a Merchandiser, you will play a key role in supporting sales activities and strengthening relationships with agro-dealers, farmers, and distributors in your assigned territory. You will ensure that our agricultural products are prominently displayed, well-stocked, and accessible to customers, while actively identifying new sales opportunities and promoting our offerings through demonstrations and events.

Key Responsibilities for Merchandiser Jobs in Central Zambia

• Merchandising & Stock Management: Maintain attractive product displays, ensure adequate stock levels, and guarantee product availability at designated outlets.
• Customer & Agro-Dealer Relations: Develop and nurture strong partnerships with farmers, agro-dealers, distributors, and end customers.
• Sales & Market Development: Identify and pursue sales opportunities, support order processing, and contribute to meeting sales targets within your area.
• Product Promotion & Demonstrations: Lead product demonstrations and assist with promotional campaigns, field days, and other agricultural events.
• Market Monitoring: Track competitor activities, pricing strategies, customer preferences, and market trends, providing timely feedback to the company.
• Customer Support & Follow-up: Address customer inquiries, provide detailed product information, and follow up on orders and customer requirements.
• Reporting & Field Activities: Keep detailed records of field visits, sales performance, stock status, and customer feedback; submit regular reports to management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Agronomy, Agriculture, or a related field is required.
• Experience with the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) is an advantage.
• Previous roles in merchandising, sales, field marketing, or agribusiness will be beneficial.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
• Good understanding of agricultural products and farming practices.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license is advantageous.
• Ability to communicate effectively in local languages is required.
