About the Mechanical Fitter Position

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a vital role in assembling, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment essential to our production operations. Your expertise will ensure that machines function efficiently and reliably, supporting continuous manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Fitting and assembling metal parts and sub-assemblies to build production machinery and equipment
• Maintaining and repairing machines to ensure optimal performance
• Interpreting blueprints and using precision measuring instruments to mark parts for machining
• Assembling machined parts, drilling holes, and tapping threads for secure bolting
• Checking joint tightness and the operation of moving components, making fine adjustments as needed
• Cutting, threading, bending, and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
• Cleaning and lubricating assembled machinery to maintain smooth operation
• Manufacturing, troubleshooting, and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
• Operating powered machinery, both manually and computer-controlled
• Erecting machinery and equipment on-site
• Regularly inspecting machinery and replacing worn or damaged parts either through in-house repair or by coordinating with the machine shop

Candidate Requirements for Mechanical Fitter Jobs in Lusaka
