About the Logistics Supervisor Role

As a Logistics Supervisor, you will oversee the company’s logistics operations, ensuring the efficient, safe, and timely transportation of cargo from loading to offloading. The position is full-time and located at our Sakania office in Ndola. Your leadership will be vital in managing transporters and coordinating logistics activities both locally and across borders within the Southern Region.

Key Responsibilities for Logistics Supervisor Jobs in Ndola

• Source and manage transporters for client cargo along North and South Bound routes.
• Oversee all logistics operations, including cross-border activities within the Southern Region.
• Ensure compliance with local and international transit regulations, customs processes, and import/export legislation.
• Monitor cargo movements, including route planning, rest stops, and delivery scheduling.
• Provide timely support to teams, drivers, clients, and liaise with customs officials and clearing agents.
• Optimize cargo routes to enhance transit efficiency and security.
• Identify opportunities for team development and deliver coaching to improve technical skills.
• Offer administrative support and maintain communication between logistics teams and executive leadership.
• Prepare detailed operational reports reflecting team performance and efficiency.
• Conduct regular audits to detect inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least a Credit in Mathematics and English.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Transport and Logistics, Transport Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a reputable transport and logistics company.
• Strong familiarity with logistics operations, including inland transportation, warehousing, ocean freight, and customs clearance procedures.

Essential Competencies

• Proven experience in the logistics industry.
• Comprehensive knowledge of North and South Bound cargo movements, including routes, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with customs clearance procedures for Zambia-DRC and Zambia-Durban routes (knowledge of at least two routes required).
• Understanding of border crossing protocols at key points such as Kasumbalesa, Sakania, Mokambo, and Nakonde.
• Access to extensive trucking and customs clearance agent networks is advantageous.
