LC&Y Chibuluma Mine Plc, located in the Copperbelt Province of Zambia, is seeking qualified and motivated Zambian professionals for two full-time positions: Human Resources Officer and Geological Engineer – Underground Mining. Geological Engineer – Underground Mining

The Geological Engineer will play a critical role in supporting underground mining operations through geological mapping, sampling, and resource evaluation. This position requires close collaboration with mining, engineering, and technical teams to ensure safe and efficient production.

• Conduct underground geological mapping, investigations, and interpretation.
• Provide geological data to support mine planning and production activities.
• Perform geological sampling, logging, and grade-control functions.
• Prepare detailed geological plans, sections, models, and technical reports.
• Monitor geological conditions to identify potential mining hazards.
• Support orebody definition, resource evaluation, and grade control processes.
• Ensure compliance with Company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in underground mining geology.
• Proven skills in geological mapping, sampling, and grade control.
• Experience with geological modeling and mining software applications.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and communication abilities.
• Membership or registration with relevant professional bodies is an advantage.

Human Resources Officer – Copperbelt

The Human Resources Officer will support various HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, and compliance with Zambian labour laws. This role is essential in maintaining a productive and compliant workforce within the mining environment.

• Assist with recruitment, selection, onboarding, and employee administration.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
• Manage employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary procedures.
• Support payroll, attendance, and timesheet administration.
• Provide HR advisory services to employees and line management.
• Implement HR policies, procedures, and company initiatives.
• Support performance management, training, and employee development.
• Ensure compliance with Zambian labour legislation and statutory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in mining, construction, or industrial sectors.
• Practical knowledge of employee relations, disciplinary and grievance handling.
• Good understanding of Zambian labour laws and statutory obligations such as NAPSA, NHIMA, and PAYE.
• Experience in unionised or industrial environments is advantageous.
• Membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) is mandatory.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

General Requirements for Both Positions

• Physically and medically fit to work in a mining environment, with a valid Medical Fitness Certificate.
• Possession of a valid Police Clearance Certificate.
• Willingness to work underground, on-site, and in operational areas as required.
• Strong commitment to Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
• Adherence to company safety rules, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Exhibit discipline, teamwork, integrity, and strong work ethics.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and fast-paced mining environment.
• Possess a valid National Registration Card (NRC) and provide certified copies of qualifications.
• Willingness to undergo reference checks and pre-employment screening.
• Previous experience in mining, construction, engineering, or industrial sectors is preferred.
• Demonstrate commitment to environmental protection and responsible mining practices.
