Mafisa Community Transformation Trust Limited invites applications for the position of Human Resource Officer, focusing on human resource officer jobs in Mwandi. About Mafisa and the Role
Established in 2018, Mafisa is a Zambian non-profit dedicated to enhancing rural livelihoods with an emphasis on livestock-based and natural resource-dependent communities. Our integrated programs cover livestock health, rangeland and water management, savings and enterprise, community governance, and climate finance initiatives.
The Field Human Resource Officer will serve as the primary HR liaison for field employees, ensuring the smooth implementation of HR policies and procedures. This position requires confidentiality, professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently while maintaining strong communication with the central HR office in Lusaka.
Key Responsibilities for Human Resource Officer Jobs in Mwandi
- Employee Relations and HR Support: Act as the main HR contact for field staff and supervisors, providing guidance on policies, handling welfare and engagement issues, and managing grievances and disciplinary processes with discretion.
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Support recruitment activities including preparing contracts and onboarding new employees, coordinating with HR management and hiring teams.
- Payroll and Data Management: Maintain accurate employee records, manage attendance and leave tracking, prepare monthly reports, and facilitate payroll-related communications.
- Performance and Development: Assist in monitoring performance management and support training initiatives to foster staff growth.
- Confidentiality and Compliance: Uphold strict confidentiality standards, ensure compliance with HR policies, and promptly report any policy breaches or risks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
- Membership or eligibility for membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) is advantageous.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in HR or administrative roles, preferably within NGOs or multi-location environments.
- Proven skills in HR administration, employee relations, recruitment, and record management.
- Strong organizational abilities and excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
Work Environment and Application Details
The position is based at Mafisa’s Mwandi Field Office, requiring close collaboration with field teams and regular reporting to the Lusaka HR Manager. Travel to various project sites may be necessary to provide HR support. This role serves as a vital link between field employees and the central HR function.
