Knight Piésold is a global consulting engineering firm specializing in engineering and environmental services. Our Southern African footprint includes Zambia, Botswana, South Africa, Namibia, eSwatini, DRC, Lesotho, and Madagascar. The HR Officer will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive HR support and ensuring compliance with labour laws within Zambia and Botswana, working closely with the Group HR Manager and the broader Southern Africa HR team.

Key Responsibilities for HR Officer Jobs in Kitwe

• Manage the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, employee development, performance management, employee relations, and exits for Zambia and Botswana.
• Ensure compliance with local labour legislation and update staff handbook policies accordingly.
• Provide practical HR advice and support to managers on people-related matters.
• Coordinate training and skills development programs; maintain learning records and support career growth initiatives.
• Administer employee benefits such as medical aid, pension, insurance, and leave; act as the local liaison with service providers.
• Maintain accurate HR administration and HRIS data; prepare regular HR reports and metrics for management decision-making.
• Lead or support HR projects including mentorship, skills transfer, employee wellness, and performance management initiatives.
• Manage recruitment agencies and HR vendors to ensure a strong candidate pipeline and positive employee experience.
• Promote effective communication and engagement across teams and offices.
• Travel to Botswana and other regional offices as required.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field.
• Professional membership such as ZIHRM is an advantage.
• At least 5 years’ experience in an HR Officer or generalist role with proven expertise in recruitment, training, benefits administration, and HR operations.
• Strong knowledge of Zambian labour law.
• Experience working in Botswana or other SADC countries is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with MS Office and HRIS platforms.
• Eligibility to work in Zambia, with a valid driver’s license and passport.
