Barrick Lumwana Mining Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and technically driven HME Data Systems Technical Adviser to join our Engineering leadership team in Kalumbila, North West Province, Zambia. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing Barrick’s HME digital ecosystem across the Africa and Middle East (AME) region, beginning with Lumwana Mining Company as the pilot site.

About the Role – HME Data Systems Technical Adviser Jobs in Kalumbila

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead the integration of critical systems including SAP (ERP), RPMGlobal’s Asset Management Technology (AMT), Dingo Trakka, Deswik, and Xeras. Your focus will be on creating a seamless, scalable, and data-driven environment that enhances asset management maturity and supports a shift from reactive to predictive maintenance practices. After successful implementation at Lumwana, you will support the rollout of these solutions across other AME sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design of the HME data ecosystem, defining system architectures, integration points, and workflows to process data from sources such as CanBus, OEM telemetry, oil analysis, SmartFleetDX, and inspections.
• Ensure that designs meet Barrick’s objectives for predictive maintenance, reliability, budgeting accuracy, and lifecycle costing, while allowing scalability for multi-site deployment.
• Oversee alignment of AMT and Dingo Trakka implementations with SAP ERP systems.
• Collaborate with Barrick LMC and AME IT teams, as well as third-party integration specialists, to build, test, and optimize the ecosystem.
• Configure interfaces between SAP PM, AMT, Dingo Trakka, Deswik, and Xeras, resolving challenges related to data synchronization, web services, and cloud/on-premise hosting.
• Ensure compliance with Barrick’s data governance and security policies.
• Manage the phased deployment of AMT and Dingo Trakka, focusing on core functionalities such as mobile asset management, lifecycle costing, condition monitoring, decision engines, and ERP notifications.
• Coordinate go-live activities including system setup, user acceptance testing, and transition from legacy systems, minimizing operational disruptions.
• Supervise contractors from RPMGlobal and Dingo throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring deliverables align with the Global Framework Agreement.
• Support the development of enhanced asset management processes including advanced work management, reliability functions, and budgeting integrated with Xeras.
• Promote and uphold Barrick’s Zero Harm culture by adhering strictly to safety, health, and environmental regulations.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Trade certificate or advanced certifications in asset management (e.g., CMRP) or systems integration are preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in mining maintenance and reliability, with expertise in HME systems, SAP PM, predictive analytics, and digital transformation projects.
• Proven track record implementing similar systems within resource companies.
• Registered member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) is required.
