Our client requires a Grants Officer to oversee the full lifecycle of grant management. This includes identifying new funding opportunities, preparing comprehensive proposals, coordinating submissions, and ensuring compliance throughout project implementation. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and supporting governance activities.
Key Responsibilities for Grants Officer Jobs in Lusaka
- Conduct market analysis to identify and evaluate new grant and tender opportunities.
- Develop and maintain an Annual Grants Plan documenting all applied and declined opportunities.
- Prepare and consolidate compelling grant applications, including drafting full proposals and coordinating input from multiple departments.
- Ensure timely submission of all grant requirements and manage a comprehensive repository of supporting documentation.
- Develop and update a Grant Tracking Tool to monitor progress, compliance, and performance of awarded grants.
- Collaborate with Legal Counsel on contracting processes related to grants and subsidies.
- Facilitate monthly stakeholder meetings to maintain alignment and support governance forums for strategy execution tracking.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in grant management with a strong understanding of grant processes.
- Ability to critically assess proposals, identify financial and operational risks, and provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Interest in renewable energy and rural electrification initiatives in Africa is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
