Position Overview: Gardener Jobs in Lusaka

As a gardener, you will be entrusted with the daily upkeep and aesthetic management of lawns, gardens, and indoor plants. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a pristine landscape, nurturing seasonal flora, and ensuring all plant-related systems operate efficiently. This role demands a hands-on approach to gardening, with a strong focus on environmental care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Mow, edge, weed, prune, and trim lawns, hedges, trees, and shrubs to uphold a neat and professional appearance.
• Plant, transplant, and care for seasonal flowers, trees, and indoor office plants to support healthy growth.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot automated irrigation systems to optimize water usage.
• Manage seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, planting rotations, and clearing walkways of debris to maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Identify and treat plant diseases and pests using environmentally responsible methods.
• Operate and maintain gardening tools and machinery including mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers safely.
• Oversee composting and waste management processes, converting garden and household waste into nutrient-rich soil.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least three years of professional experience in gardening, commercial landscaping, or groundskeeping.
• Comprehensive knowledge of plant care, soil health, pruning techniques, and seasonal planting cycles.
• Proficient in the safe operation of commercial landscaping machinery.
• Physically fit and able to perform demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and professional with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Formal qualifications in Horticulture, Agriculture, or related fields are advantageous but not required.
