Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Field Operations Officer will play a vital role in supporting the company’s operational activities across rural areas. This contract position involves close collaboration with beekeeping groups, community buyers, and procurement agents to enhance production quality, ensure compliance with organic standards, and facilitate efficient procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Beekeeper Mobilization and Capacity Building: Organize meetings with beekeeping groups, mobilize participation in company programs, deliver training aligned with Forest Fruits’ standards, and provide technical support to improve productivity and quality.
• Field Operations and Procurement: Coordinate honey, beeswax, and bee product procurement schedules; oversee purchasing activities; and assist in forecasting product availability.
• Quality Assurance and Product Inspection: Inspect and test bee products to ensure compliance with quality and organic certification standards; report and address quality issues.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze production and procurement data; maintain accurate field records; prepare operational forecasts.
• Financial and Inventory Accountability: Manage fund disbursements, conduct product weighing and verification, reconcile assets and materials, and maintain accountability for company resources.
• Planning, Budgeting, and Reporting: Develop activity plans and budgets; monitor expenditures; prepare timely field reports and updates for management.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Foster positive relationships with beekeepers, community buyers, agents, and local authorities; represent the company professionally in the field.
• General Duties: Comply with company policies, safeguard property, promote health and safety standards, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Natural Resource Management, Rural Development, Forestry, Environmental Science, or related fields; a bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
• Experience working with rural communities, farmer groups, cooperatives, or agricultural value chains is preferred.
• Knowledge of beekeeping, honey production, organic certification systems, or community development programs is desirable.
• Proven skills in data collection, training facilitation, and managing field operations.

• Overnight travel and work beyond regular office hours may be necessary during procurement seasons.
• Exposure to outdoor environmental conditions and remote locations is part of the job.
