1. Electrical Engineer

Role Overview: Lead the reliability, maintenance, and enhancement of plant electrical systems. This includes planning preventive and predictive maintenance, diagnosing faults, implementing energy efficiency programs, supervising contractors, commissioning equipment, and supporting automation initiatives.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Valid ERB registration or eligibility and EIZ membership.
Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical experience, ideally in steel, mining, cement, or heavy manufacturing.
Expertise in HV/LV systems, motors, transformers, switchgear, PLCs, VFDs, SCADA, instrumentation, and protection systems.
Strong troubleshooting, project planning, and leadership abilities.

2. Electrical Shift In-Charge

Role Overview: Manage shift-based electrical maintenance to ensure safe, continuous, and reliable operation of electrical and automation systems supporting steel production.

Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering.
Valid ERB registration or eligibility and EIZ membership.
At least 5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, MCCs, PLCs, VFDs, SCADA, and instrumentation.
Proven emergency response, fault-finding, and decision-making skills.
Willingness to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

3. Electrical Technician

Role Overview: Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on production equipment such as motors, transformers, switchgear, control panels, cranes, furnaces, rolling mills, pumps, and compressors.

Requirements:

Diploma or Advanced Technician Diploma in Electrical or Power Engineering.
Valid ERB registration or eligibility and EIZ membership.
Minimum 3 years industrial electrical maintenance experience, preferably in steel, mining, or heavy manufacturing.
Hands-on experience with motor control, PLC and VFD troubleshooting, and industrial automation.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.

4. Motor Rewinder

Role Overview: Inspect, rewind, repair, test, and maintain AC/DC motors, generators, and rotating electrical equipment across the facility.

Requirements:

Craft Certificate, Trade Test Certificate, or Diploma in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
Minimum 3 years of practical motor rewinding and repair experience in heavy industry.
Proven expertise with LV/HV AC motors, DC motors, and generators.
Skilled in using insulation resistance testers, surge testers, and diagnostic equipment.
Comprehensive knowledge of winding diagrams, insulation systems, varnishing, and testing procedures.

5. Draftsman

Role Overview: Prepare and maintain detailed technical 2D/3D CAD drawings, designs, and documentation for mechanical equipment, structural works, and civil projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop schematics, orthographic drawings, and layout designs using AutoCAD.
Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and verify material specifications for civil and mechanical works.
Collaborate with engineering teams and contractors to resolve design revisions.
Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, ZEMA environmental standards, the Factories Act, and the NAPSA Act.

Qualifications:

Technologist Diploma or Advanced Technician Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Formal AutoCAD 2D & 3D training and proficiency.
At least 2 years of relevant drafting experience.
Strong attention to detail and technical English communication skills.

6. Maintenance Workshop Supervisor (SMS MMD)

Role Overview: Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily mechanical workshop operations within the Steel Melting Shop Mechanical Maintenance Department (SMS MMD), including fabrication, welding, machining, fitting, and repairs to support uninterrupted plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Allocate daily work orders and manage refurbishment of shafts, housings, pipelines, rollers, and urgent breakdown repairs.
Lead toolbox talks, enforce HSE regulations including JSA, Permit-to-Work, and PPE compliance.
Mentor junior artisans and apprentices to promote skill development.
Inspect completed work against engineering drawings and optimize material use to reduce downtime.

Qualifications and Experience:

Grade 12 Certificate plus Diploma or Craft Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, or Welding & Fabrication.
Minimum 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in heavy industry, preferably SMS/steel-making.
At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a mechanical workshop environment.
Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drives, rigging, and engineering drawing interpretation.

7. Control Room Operator – DRI Plant

Role Overview: Monitor and control Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plant operations through control room automation systems to maintain production efficiency and quality standards safely.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate DCS, PLC, and SCADA control systems for rotary kilns, coolers, waste heat recovery, and off-gas systems.
Monitor process parameters such as temperatures, pressures, gas compositions, and feed rates, making real-time adjustments.
Coordinate with field operators and maintenance teams during normal operations, start-ups, shutdowns, and alarms.
Maintain accurate operational logs and shift reports.

Qualifications:

Degree or Diploma in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering.
3 to 5 years’ experience as a Control Room Operator in a DRI or metallurgical process plant.
Practical experience with PLC/DCS platforms such as Siemens, ABB, or Allen-Bradley.
Strong analytical skills and knowledge of rotary kiln and gas processing operations.
